The Greatest of My Sufferings chronicles the historic event of Meher Baba’s 1952 accident in America, the incidents in Meher Baba’s life that led up to and foretold of it, and the 12-day period of recovery in the Prague Hospital.
Produced by Avatar Meher Baba Heartland Center, the film features first-hand accounts by Meher Baba’s Mandali, including a never previously released recording of Mehera sharing her thoughts about the significance of the accident. A newly discovered video of Dr. Ned Burleson, the local doctor who treated Baba and struggled for hours to save Mehera’s life, conveys his experience of caring for Meher Baba, Mehera, Elizabeth, and Meheru.
A multi-textured presentation of eloquent narration, poignant quotes, vintage and contemporary still photographs, graphics, audio and video recordings, and inspired music, the film conveys the breadth and depth of this critically important aspect of Meher Baba’s mission in a dynamic, highly engaging manner.
