The literary tradition of the ghazal first emerged in Persia and reached stylistic perfection in the 14th century Shirazi Spiritual Master, Hafez. The ghazal tradition is a spiritual lyric describing the lover-Beloved relationship and it has been carried down to the present day in Urdu in the Indian subcontinent. In the 1960's, Avatar Meher Baba inspired the Australian poet, Francis Brabazon, to create the English language ghazal, as found in his works, In Dust I Sing, and The Beloved Is All In All.

Here are my ghazals to regale the Eternal Beloved, Avatar Meher Baba, Lord and Friend.
