“In her new CD, Bobbi Bernstein and her talented companion musicians share what I’m tempted to call ’15 Flavors of Love.’ All of the songs are by Bobbi, who plays keyboards, ukulele, and even a jazzy kazoo solo. The collection includes stirring guitar leads, piano glissandos, Caribbean-style rhythms, soft rock – and happily, lyrics that are easy to take in.
There are musical tributes to Kitty Davy and Adele Wolkin, as well as settings of Hafiz, Malcolm Schloss, and Tagore poems. One song is a juxtaposition of one of Norina’s 40 Messages and a matchless long sentence, ‘The Final Account’, from Life At Its Best. Bobbi’s album finale, In the Footsteps of Saint Francis, includes a moving piano solo before the lyrics kick in.”
